How to participate:
– Download the sheet music for free here. There you can also listen to it and watch it being played.
– Record a video and post it on YouTube or/and Instagram. Find requirements and terms below.
How it works:
Everyone who plays the piece correctly!🤓 (mostly rhythmically correct, mostly error-free, appropriate tempo) and uploads / sends the video by August 31, 2025, at 12:00 PM CEST, will be entered into the challenge. One prize will be awarded in each of the following eight categories:
- Youngest participant (Could this be you? Then please include your date of birth.)
- First submission (Yes, you read that right. If you’re the first to upload, you win this prize.)
- Most extraordinary setting 🌇(Courtyard of Neuschwanstein Castle? On a sailboat during a storm on the Baltic Sea? Your imagination sets the limit.)
- Oldest participant (Could this be you? Then please include your date of birth.)
- Most creative performance (How far can I go in dynamics, tempo, rubato, without distorting the piece? What angles or ideas can be explored while keeping the essence intact? Musically convincing, of course.)
- Best technique 🎯(flawless, clean, tempo, precision—how far can you push the limits?)
- Best interpretation (Which performance is the most musically intense, captivating the listeners and commanding their attention?)
- Audience favorite 😍(The video with the most likes at the deadline—either on YouTube or Instagram—wins this category. No combined total; the higher count on a single platform wins.)
YouTube process: Upload your video publicly to your YouTube channel and send us the link via your registration email. We’ll add it to the public challenge playlist.
Instagram process: Post your Reel on Instagram and send it (after following) to @draussen_outside via DM for reposting. Likes: either! the likes on your account or! on @draussen_outside count—whichever number is higher.
Participation requirements:
– Send an informal registration with your name and optionally your date of birth (only those who include their birth date in the registration can qualify for categories 1 or 4; later submission of birth date is not possible) to draussen.outside@gmail.com.
– By registering, you agree that your name may be mentioned by us as part of the challenge. Your data will only be used for this challenge and will be deleted completely afterward.
– Under 18? Please include a brief confirmation from a parent/guardian that you’re allowed to participate.
Categories 3, 5, 6, and 7 will be judged by a three-member jury ⚖ based on the criteria above. By participating, you agree to accept the jury’s decisions. Legal recourse is excluded.
Winners will be announced on this page during the first week of September. 🏆
Note: Participation is not guaranteed. If a performance contains too many errors or the video quality is too poor 🙈, the jury may decide not to accept the submission. At least 90% of a performance must be error-free and rhythmically correct. The tempo must not drop below 66 beats per minute (quarter note). The video has to be a -live- recording. Videos with dubbed or added audio tracks are not allowed for participation.
Double wins are possible, e.g. if the youngest participant is also the audience favorite, they win two tickets.
