The idea is simple: Have fun making music, play the piano, and win a day at Europa-Park!<\/strong> \ud83c\udfa2<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How does it work?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It’s easy!<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Play the piece for your age group, record a video \ud83c\udfb9\ud83d\ude0e and upload it to YouTube<\/strong> (YouTube only \u2013 no Instagram or TikTok) with #PIANOCHALLENGEJULI26<\/strong> in the title or description.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You could win one of 10 tickets to Europa-Park!<\/mark><\/strong> \ud83c\udfa2<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Download your piece for free using the links below. You’ll also find recordings and performance videos there to help you get started.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s it! \ud83d\udc4d\ud83d\ude0a You don’t need to send anything to me. Your video will be found through the hashtag.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you’d like, you may briefly introduce yourself in the video \u2013 even just your first name is enough. It simply helps everyone keep track of the participants. Of course, that’s completely optional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participation requirements are listed below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Find your piece:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Born in 2010 or earlier:<\/strong>
Play „Gateway<\/mark><\/a>„<\/strong> or „Orcas<\/mark><\/a>„<\/strong> \u2013 whichever you like best. \ud83c\udfb9\ud83d\ude0d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born in 2011 or 2012:<\/strong>
Choose „Letzten Sommer<\/mark><\/a>„<\/strong> or „Milky Way<\/mark><\/a>„<\/strong>. \ud83d\udc9a\ud83c\udfb9<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Born in 2013 or later:<\/strong>
Play „Die Ente<\/mark><\/a>„<\/strong> or „Der Wolf<\/mark><\/a>„<\/strong>. \ud83c\udfb9\ud83d\ude0e<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are always welcome to choose a piece from an older age group if you prefer. Just mention it in your video description.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adult beginners aged 30 and above<\/strong> (born in 1996 or earlier) may freely choose any of the six pieces.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How winners are selected:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Record your performance and upload it by<\/p>\n\n\n\n

31 July 2026 \u2013 11:59 p.m. (CEST).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your performance should be rhythmically accurate, mostly free of mistakes and played at an appropriate tempo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But remember:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This challenge is about enjoying music\u2014not about being perfect!<\/strong> \ud83d\ude0a\ud83c\udfb9<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udfc6 5 Most creative musical performance<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udfc6 6 Best piano technique<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udfc6 7 Best interpretation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udfc6 8 Second prize for Best Interpretation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udfc6 9 Audience Favourite
(The video with the most YouTube likes at the deadline.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udfc6 10 Jury Special Award
(For a performance that deserves special recognition.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Competition rules:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The winners of categories 3, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10<\/strong> will be selected by a three-member jury according to the criteria above.By taking part, you agree to accept the jury’s decision. The jury consists of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udfb9 Roy (well… that’s me \ud83d\ude04), <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udfb9Zoe (a medical student and passionate pianist)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udfb9 Eckart (professional drummer with an „outside perspective“ \ud83e\uddd0)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ll introduce the jury in a separate video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winners will be announced during August 2026<\/strong> on YouTube and here on this website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please note<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Participation is not automatic. If a performance contains too many mistakes or the video quality is too poor, the jury may decide not to accept the entry. At least 90% of the performance should be correct<\/strong> and rhythmically accurate. The recording must be performed live<\/strong>. Videos with dubbed or added audio tracks are not eligible. Vertical (Shorts) videos are accepted if you really want to use that format, but landscape format is recommended because it shows much more\ud83d\udc4d\ud83d\ude0a.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But<\/strong> as mentioned before: Be brave and join in!<\/strong> \ud83d\udc4d\ud83d\ude0a\ud83c\udfb9<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This challenge is meant to be enjoyable<\/strong>\u2014not stressful. The quality requirements simply ensure that everyone participates under fair conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Multiple prizes are possible. For example, if the youngest participant also wins the Audience Favourite award, they receive two Europa-Park tickets.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few words about the pieces<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Each piece has its own musical challenges. „Gateway“<\/strong> and „The Duck“<\/strong> are more technically demanding. „Milky Way“<\/strong> has a jazz-inspired character, while „The Wolf“<\/strong> focuses strongly on tone colour and musical expression. „Orcas“<\/strong> has to groove\u2014otherwise it simply doesn’t work. And especially in „Last Summer“<\/strong>, but also in the other pieces, you’ll find short polyphonic passages highlighted by the accents. Bringing out those musical voices clearly is part of the challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
